Cyberabad SHE Teams Crack Down on Harassment, 29 Caught During 104 Decoy Operations in One Week

Cyberabad SHE Teams conducted 104 decoy operations from May 23 to May 30, 2026, catching 29 individuals for harassment, registering 37 petty cases, rescuing four victims and reaching 1,844 people through awareness programmes.

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad SHE Teams intensified their efforts to ensure women’s safety by conducting 104 decoy operations between May 23 and May 30, 2026, leading to the apprehension of 29 individuals caught red-handed for indecent behaviour in public places. During the same period, police registered 37 petty cases, received 20 complaints from women, and carried out several awareness programmes across Cyberabad.

The Cyberabad Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) also rescued four victims and arrested one accused in a case registered under the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA).

104 Decoy Operations Conducted Across Cyberabad

As part of intensified surveillance and enforcement measures, Cyberabad SHE Teams conducted 104 decoy operations from May 23 to May 30.

During these operations:

  • 29 individuals were caught red-handed for indecent behaviour in public places.
  • 37 petty cases were booked.
  • Several individuals were counselled.
  • 20 complaints were received from women through various channels.

The operations were carried out as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen women’s safety and security in the Cyberabad Commissionerate limits.

AHTU Rescues Four Victims, One Arrested

The Cyberabad Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) reported significant action during the week.

According to officials:

  • Four victims were rescued.
  • One accused was arrested.

The case was registered under the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA).

Family Counselling Centres Reunite 39 Families

Cyberabad Police also highlighted the role of Family Counselling and CDEW Centres in resolving family disputes.

During the reporting period, these centres helped reunite 39 families facing marital issues and domestic disputes.

Awareness Programmes Reach 1,844 Participants

As part of preventive and educational initiatives, SHE Teams and AHTU organized awareness programmes across Cyberabad.

The programmes reached a total of 1,844 participants.

  • Cyber safety
  • Child trafficking
  • Stalking
  • Social media harassment
  • Cyber frauds
  • Child rights
  • Emergency helpline services

Officials said the awareness sessions were aimed at educating citizens about safety, legal rights and available support systems.

SCSC and Thomson Reuters Conduct Child Safety Programme

The Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC), in collaboration with Thomson Reuters, organized a “Bring Your Child to Work” awareness programme at Madhapur.

More than 50 children and their parents participated in the programme.

The interactive sessions focused on:

  • Personal safety
  • Cyber awareness
  • Responsible use of social media

DCP K. Srujana Encourages Children

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Women & Child Safety Wing) K. Srujana addressed participants during the programme.

She encouraged children to pursue their ambitions confidently and assured them that the police remain approachable for assistance, protection and support whenever needed.
