Bonalu 2026: Nampally MLA Majid Hussain Secures Additional Rs 30,000 Cheques for Six Temples

Nampally MLA Majid Hussain announced additional government cheques of Rs 30,000 each for six temple committees ahead of Bonalu 2026 after representations regarding inadequate or non-receipt of earlier assistance.

Ahead of the Bonalu festival, Nampally MLA Majid Hussain said he successfully represented temple committees in the Nampally constituency and secured additional government assistance of Rs 30,000 each for six temples that had either received a lower amount earlier or had not received any financial assistance. The MLA said the additional amount would be added to the previously sanctioned funds and assured support to other temple committees facing similar issues.

Majid Hussain Calls It an Example of Secularism

Speaking about the initiative, Nampally MLA Majid Hussain said the distribution of additional cheques to temple committees reflected the spirit of secularism and inclusive public representation.

He stated that during last year’s Bonalu festival, several temples in the Nampally constituency had received government cheques. However, some temples received a very small amount, while one temple reportedly did not receive any amount at all.

According to Majid Hussain, representations were made to the Endowments Department regarding the issue.

Six Temple Committees Receive Additional Assistance

The MLA said that he, along with his colleagues, including Ram Chander and Ramesh Bhai, continuously pursued the matter with the concerned authorities.

As a result of these efforts, six temple committees have now been sanctioned additional cheques of Rs 30,000 each.

He stated that the temple committees had approached him with complaints that the previously sanctioned amount was insufficient, while one committee complained that it had not received any amount.

Majid Hussain said the committees had placed their trust in the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), and he fulfilled that trust by representing their concerns before the government and securing the additional funds.

Additional Amount to Be Added to Previous Sanction

The MLA clarified that the newly sanctioned Rs 30,000 for each of the six temples would be added to the amount that had already been sanctioned earlier.

He further stated that any temple committee which feels that the assistance sanctioned for Bonalu celebrations is inadequate can approach him directly.

According to Majid Hussain, such committees can meet him and submit their concerns, and he would continue to represent their cases before the government.

MLA Thanks Ram Chander for Follow-Up

Majid Hussain expressed special gratitude to Ram Chander for continuously following up on the issue.

He said Ram Chander remained in constant contact and worked hard wherever intervention was required, helping ensure that the representation made by AIMIM reached its successful conclusion.

The MLA appealed to residents and temple committees to bring any pending civic issues to his notice before the Bonalu festival.

He specifically referred to works related to:

  • GHMC
  • Water Works Department
  • Electricity Department
  • Endowments Department

Majid Hussain said that if any work needs to be completed before Bonalu to ensure convenience for women and devotees participating in the festivities, representations should be submitted immediately.

AIMIM Leaders Assure Full Support

The MLA said he and his AIMIM colleagues and office-bearers would make every effort to ensure that pending works brought before them are completed before the Bonalu festival.

He assured temple committees and local residents that all possible efforts would be made to address their concerns and facilitate smooth Bonalu celebrations across the constituency.

Ahead of Bonalu 2026, Nampally MLA Majid Hussain announced that six temple committees in the Nampally constituency would receive additional government cheques of Rs 30,000 each after representations were made regarding inadequate or non-receipt of earlier assistance. He said the additional amount would be added to previously sanctioned funds and invited other temple committees facing similar issues to approach him so that necessary representations could be made before the festival.
