Hyderabad: In a unique initiative, the Telangana Housing Board has invited the public to suggest a name for its proposed 1 lakh flats construction scheme for the Low Income Group (LIG) in the Core Urban Region (CUR) area. The board has announced a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh for the best name selected through a public competition being conducted on social media.

The initiative was announced by Telangana Housing Board Vice Chairman Sri V.P. Goutham, who said the board wants to directly involve people in naming the prestigious housing project. The competition is open until June 28, and the selected entry will receive a reward of Rs 1 lakh.
Telangana Government Planning 1 Lakh Flats for Low Income Group Families
Sri V.P. Goutham stated that after the formation of Telangana, this is the first major housing initiative proposed for the Low Income Group (LIG) category in the CUR area.
He recalled that the state government led by Chief Minister Sri A. Revanth Reddy has already decided to construct 1 lakh houses specifically for economically weaker sections and low-income families.
According to him, the Housing Board has earned a good reputation for helping people fulfill their dream of owning a house at affordable prices without disputes.
He also noted that projects undertaken by the Housing Board have consistently received public support and demand.
Social Media Competition Open Until June 28
The Housing Board has decided to finalize the name of the housing scheme based on suggestions received from the public.
Sri V.P. Goutham said the board wants citizens to become partners in the project and therefore decided to seek suggestions directly from them.
