The special drive was carried out to ensure road safety. The Joint Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Hyderabad, said there will be zero tolerance for drunk driving violations and that the special drive will continue.

Hyderabad Traffic Police’s Two-Day Drunk Driving Special Drive
According to a press note dated June 28, 2026, the Hyderabad Traffic Police conducted a special drive against drunken driving on June 26, 2026 and June 27, 2026 to improve road safety.
During the operation, a total of 394 drivers were booked for driving under the influence of alcohol.
Vehicle-Wise Breakdown of Drunk Driving Cases
Of the 394 drivers caught:
- 326 were two-wheeler riders
- 30 were three-wheeler drivers
- 38 were four-wheeler and other vehicle drivers
BAC Levels of Drivers Booked by Hyderabad Traffic Police
The Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) levels of the booked cases were:
- 30–50: 88 cases
- 51–100: 175 cases
- 101–150: 62 cases
- 151–200: 37 cases
- 201–250: 15 cases
- 251–300: 13 cases
- Above 300: 4 cases
Zero Tolerance Against Drunk Driving
The Joint Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Hyderabad, stated that there will be zero tolerance towards drunk driving violations.
The official also said that the special drive will continue and appealed to commuters to cooperate with the Hyderabad Traffic Police in ensuring road safety.
