Narayanguda Police solved a ₹7.70 lakh house theft case within 36 hours by arresting a 19-year-old carpenter and recovering the entire stolen cash from Bowenpally, Hyderabad.

Hyderabad: Narayanguda Police Station solved a grave house theft case within 36 hours by arresting a 19-year-old carpenter and recovering the entire ₹7,70,000 allegedly stolen from a house under renovation. The accused, identified as Deepesh Khati, was apprehended on July 3, 2026, from Bowenpally, Hyderabad, following technical tracking and investigation.

Carpenter Arrested in House Theft Case

The arrested accused has been identified as:

  • Deepesh Khati
    • Son of Biyaram
    • Age: 19 years
    • Occupation: Carpenter
    • Resident of: Old Bowenpally, Secunderabad
    • Native of: Katarada village, Jawar, Jodhpur, Rajasthan

Complaint Filed After ₹7.70 Lakh Went Missing

According to the police, on July 1, 2026, at 7:30 pm, Amit Agarwal lodged a complaint stating that he was living with his wife and sons in their house, which had been under renovation since December 2025.

Due to the renovation work, the family had kept around ₹7,70,000 in ₹500 currency note bundles inside his wife’s handbags, which were stored in a wooden almirah in the first-floor bedroom.

Police said:

  • On June 30, 2026, at around 9:30 am, the complainant’s wife checked the handbags and found the cash intact.
  • At around 5:30 pm, she went for an evening walk without locking the bedroom door.
  • Workers were carrying out renovation work on all floors of the house at that time.
  • She returned home at around 6:30 pm and noticed nothing unusual.
  • At around 9:30 pm, she again checked the handbags and found the cash missing.

The complainant suspected that one of the workers engaged in the renovation work had stolen the money during their absence.

Police Recover Entire Stolen Cash

Immediately after registering the case, the police crime team visited the scene of offence.

Officials carried out:

  • Examination of the scene of crime.
  • Verification of CCTV footage.
  • Collection of evidence.
  • Enquiries with all workers present at the house.

Based on technical intelligence and investigation, police apprehended Deepesh Khati on July 3, 2026, at 10:20 am.

The entire ₹7,70,000 stolen cash was recovered intact from his room in Bowenpally, Hyderabad.
