Cyberabad Police have launched Operation Muskan-12, a month-long drive until July 31 to rescue missing and exploited children using seven special teams and the Darpan facial recognition app.

Hyderabad: M. Ramesh on Friday launched Operation Muskan-12, a month-long special drive to rescue missing children and children forced into begging, child labour, rag-picking, trafficking, and bonded labour. The operation, launched at the Cyberabad Commissionerate, will continue until July 31, with seven special police teams and multiple government departments working together to identify, rescue, and rehabilitate vulnerable children.

Operation Muskan-12 Launched in Cyberabad
Addressing a convergence meeting at the Cyberabad Commissionerate, Cyberabad Police Commissioner M. Ramesh urged all stakeholder departments to work in close coordination to ensure the success of Operation Muskan-12.
The month-long drive aims to rescue:
- Missing children
- Children forced into begging
- Child labourers
- Rag-picking children
- Victims of trafficking
- Children in bonded labour
The operation will continue until July 31.
Seven Special Police Teams Formed
Police have constituted seven special teams, each headed by a Sub-Inspector, to identify, rescue, and rehabilitate vulnerable children.
According to the Commissioner, police have also identified clusters and hotspots where children were previously found engaged in child labour based on data from earlier cases.
The rescue operations will be carried out jointly with other stakeholder departments.
Darpan Facial Recognition App to Trace Missing Children
Cyberabad Police will use the Darpan facial recognition application to trace missing and unidentified children during the operation.
The technology is expected to assist police teams in identifying children and reuniting them with their families wherever possible.

- District Child Protection Units
- Other concerned departments
