Hyderabad: A Tahsildar in Siddipet district was caught red-handed by the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) while allegedly accepting a Rs.70,000 bribe for processing 11 NALA conversion applications relating to land in Nagapuri village. The accused, Korra Dileep Naik, Tahsildar of Cheryala Mandal, was trapped at his office on Monday afternoon, arrested by the ACB, and will be produced before the Special Court for SPE and ACB Cases in Hyderabad. ACB Traps Cheryala Mandal Tahsildar in Bribery Case
According to the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau, the accused has been identified as Korra Dileep Naik, Tahsildar of Cheryala Mandal in Siddipet district.
The ACB conducted a trap operation on Monday afternoon, during which the Tahsildar was allegedly caught accepting a Rs.70,000 bribe at his office.
Officials alleged that the money was demanded and accepted for processing 11 NALA conversion applications related to land located in Nagapuri village.
Eight NALA Conversion Applications Already Processed
The ACB stated that eight of the 11 NALA conversion applications had already been processed before the trap.
During the operation, officials recovered the tainted Rs.70,000 from the possession of the accused.
According to the agency, the Tahsildar abused his official position and acted dishonestly to obtain an undue advantage.
Accused Arrested, Investigation Continues
The accused has been arrested and will be produced before the Special Court for SPE and ACB Cases in Hyderabad.
The identity of the complainant has been withheld for security reasons.
The investigation is underway.
