CM Revanth Reddy Launches New Balamrutham Plant in Hyderabad, Pledges Better Nutrition and Quality Education for Children
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy inaugurated the new Balamrutham plant in Hyderabad's Nacharam IDA and highlighted the Telangana government's focus on child nutrition, quality education, women's welfare, and affordable housing.

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy inaugurated the new Balamrutham plant of the Telangana Food Corporation in the IDA area of Nacharam, Hyderabad, and said the people’s government is committed to providing proper nutrition and quality education to children. He said the government has launched several programmes to ensure healthy children, quality education, and stronger welfare support for women and poor families.

New Balamrutham Plant Inaugurated in Nacharam
The Chief Minister inaugurated the new Balamrutham production facility set up by the Telangana Food Corporation in Nacharam IDA, Hyderabad.
After inaugurating the plant, he inspected the Balamrutham production and packing process unit and planted a sapling on the premises.
The programme was attended by Danasari Anasuya Seethakka, public representatives and government officials.
Nutrition and Quality Education Are Government Priorities
Addressing the gathering, Revanth Reddy said the government has taken a clear responsibility to provide children with proper nutrition and quality education.
He said healthy children will grow into responsible citizens and contribute to building a healthy Telangana.
The Chief Minister said the newly established Balamrutham production centre has been launched to provide strengthening nutritional food to poor children from the time a mother becomes pregnant until the child reaches six years of age.
He added that ensuring the health of newborn children also brings happiness to parents.
No Compromise on Quality
The Chief Minister stressed that institutions like the new Balamrutham plant are essential if children are to remain healthy for 100 years.
He assured full government support and said:
- The future of children is the future of Telangana.
- The government is giving special attention to the health and education of poor children.
- The government will provide not only quality food but also quality education.
- There should be no compromise on quality.
Plant Expanded on 21 Acres
Revanth Reddy recalled that former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi had inaugurated this centre in Mahabubnagar in the past.
He said the facility has gradually expanded into a major industry spread across 21 acres and now has the capacity to supply nutritious food to Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and another four to five states.
Government Schools Now Offer Education From Nursery to Class 12
The Chief Minister said government schools previously did not have Nursery, LKG and UKG classes.
As a result, migrant families living in urban areas had to send their children to private schools, forcing poor families to spend most of their income on education.
To address this, the government has started providing:
- Education from Nursery to Class 12
- Breakfast
- Lunch
- Evening snacks
He said the Telangana government spends Rs. 27,000 crore every year on the education sector.
According to him, this expenditure is not viewed as a cost but as an investment in the future.
Welfare Schemes for Women Highlighted
The Chief Minister said almost all major welfare schemes are being implemented in the name of women.
He highlighted the following initiatives:
- Free travel in RTC buses
- Free electricity up to 200 units
- Indiramma Houses
- Loans for women’s self-help groups
- Establishment of 1,000 MW solar plants
- Petrol bunks for women
- 1,000 buses to be provided to RTC on a rental basis
- Indira Mahila Shakti Centres on 3.5 acres near Shilparamam
- Women canteens in government offices
One Lakh Houses for the Poor, Crorepati Women by 2034
Revanth Reddy said that despite land prices in Hyderabad reaching the level of diamond prices, the government has decided to construct 1 lakh houses for the poor.
He also announced that the government aims to make one crore women crorepatis by 2034 by expanding employment, self-employment, and business opportunities through comprehensive planning.
