Iran Warns War Will Enter a More Dangerous Phase if US Continues Its Attacks

Meanwhile, Iran's semi-official Tasnim News Agency reported that Iranian forces targeted a vessel in the Strait of Hormuz, alleging that it had transited the strategic waterway without authorization from the Iranian Navy and ignored repeated warnings.

Tehran: Iran has issued a stern warning to the United States, saying the conflict could enter a “new and more dangerous phase” if American military strikes continue over the next two to three days.

Speaking to Iranian state television, Mohsen Rezaei, a senior military adviser to Iran’s Supreme Leader, said the policy of pursuing both negotiations and military engagement had come to an end. He warned that if the United States did not halt its attacks, Iran’s response would extend beyond retaliation, and American military bases and interests would no longer be safe.

Rezaei said Iran had exercised restraint in an effort to prevent the conflict from spreading across the region, but accused Washington of escalating the situation through continued military action.

He further warned that if US operations continued, Iran would deploy additional military capabilities, including ground forces, raising the possibility of a broader regional conflict.

The senior Iranian official also called on regional countries, including Kuwait, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar, to play an active role in preventing further escalation.

According to Rezaei, Iran’s retaliatory operations have already been significant, and the intensity of missile and drone strikes could increase in the coming days. He also cautioned that any US ground operation would have serious consequences.

On the other hand, the United States said it had carried out multiple strikes in southern Iran in recent days. US officials stated that the operations were aimed at addressing threats to commercial shipping and maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz.

The latest developments come amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, with Iran continuing missile and drone attacks targeting US military bases and installations in the region, raising concerns over the possibility of a wider conflict.
