Secunderabad Bonalu 2026: Hyderabad Police Hold Coordination Meeting, Unveil Comprehensive Security Arrangements

Hyderabad: Ahead of the Ujjaini Mahankali Bonalu Festival 2026, the Mahankali Police Station under the Mahankali Division, Secunderabad Zone, conducted coordination meetings with Shivashaktulu & Joginis, Ujjaini Mahankali Temple Committee members, and Print and Electronic Media staff on July 25, 2026. Police announced extensive security and crowd management measures, including the deployment of 2,500 police personnel, AI-enabled CCTV cameras, 10 crime teams in mufti, and multiple dedicated queue lines to ensure a safe and hassle-free festival.

Coordination Meetings Held with Devotees, Temple Committee and Media

The coordination meetings were chaired by:

• Mrs. Rakshitha Krishna Murthy, IPS, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Secunderabad Zone, Hyderabad City
• J. Narsaiah, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Secunderabad Zone, Hyderabad
• Ch. Sridhar, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mahankali Division, Secunderabad Zone, Hyderabad
• S. Ravi Kumar, Inspector of Police, Mahankali Police Station
• K. Ranga Reddy, Detective Inspector of Police, Mahankali Police Station

According to the police:

• At 2:00 pm on July 25, 2026, a meeting was held with Shivashaktulu & Joginis, attended by 30 members.
• At 3:00 pm, a meeting was conducted with the Ujjaini Mahankali Temple Committee, attended by 50 members.
• At 4:00 pm, a meeting was held with Print and Electronic Media staff, attended by 50 members.

Extensive Arrangements for Bonalu 2026

Addressing the meetings, Mrs. Rakshitha Krishna Murthy, IPS, said extensive arrangements have been made in coordination with all departments to ensure devotees visiting the Ujjaini Mahankali Bonalu Festival 2026 can have a safe and hassle-free darshan.

She said comprehensive arrangements have been made to ensure devotees face no inconvenience during the Bonalu festival.

Special Queue Lines and Coordination Teams

Police announced the following arrangements:

• A separate queue line for Joginis with entry from Bata Road.
• Two special coordination teams for Joginis and Shivashaktulu.
• Two dedicated queue lines for women carrying Bonalu—one from Bata Road and another from Rocha Bazar.
• Two general queue lines for the general public.
• Two separate queue lines for pass holders.
• Special security arrangements for Smt. Swarnalatha on the day of the Rangam programme.
• All necessary measures have been taken to ensure devotees receive a smooth and quick darshan.

2,500 Police Personnel and AI CCTV Surveillance

To strengthen security during the festival, police announced:

• 10 Crime Teams in mufti will be deployed from July 31 onwards.
• Persons behaving suspiciously will be identified and, if necessary, taken into custody.
• Even during VIP visits, arrangements will ensure that the general public’s darshan is not disrupted.
• The temple premises and surrounding areas will be continuously monitored from the Police Station through CCTV cameras.
• A total of 2,500 police personnel have been deployed for festival security.
• AI-enabled CCTV cameras will monitor suspicious movements, and appropriate action will be taken against suspicious persons.
