Hyderabad: Case Registered Against Software Engineer for Alleged Sexual Harassment of Woman
According to the complaint, the woman visited India between March 5 and March 23 and stayed in Kondapur with her boyfriend. She alleged that the accused repeatedly behaved indecently and sexually harassed her when her boyfriend was not present.
Hyderabad: A 36-year-old woman from the Netherlands has lodged a complaint alleging that she was sexually harassed and subjected to indecent behaviour by a man during her visit to Hyderabad earlier this year.
According to the complaint, the woman visited India between March 5 and March 23 and stayed in Kondapur with her boyfriend. She alleged that the accused repeatedly behaved indecently and sexually harassed her when her boyfriend was not present.
The woman reportedly alleged that on March 17, when she was alone at the residence, the accused arrived in a partially undressed state and allegedly touched her inappropriately. He reportedly made an indecent remark, claiming that such behaviour would help relieve his stress.
The woman managed to avoid further assault after her boyfriend returned home, according to the complaint.

After returning to the Netherlands, the woman reportedly informed her boyfriend about the incident that allegedly took place in Hyderabad. She also informed the Dutch Embassy and subsequently travelled to Hyderabad on July 22 to formally lodge a complaint with the police.
Based on her complaint, Gachibowli Police registered a case under Sections 74, 75, 78 and 79 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Police identified the accused as Aditya Anand, a software engineer from Bihar. Following the registration of the case, police launched efforts to trace and apprehend him. However, the accused is currently reportedly absconding.
Further investigation is underway.
