HYDERABAD, INDIA: In celebration of International Yoga Day, Aster Prime Hospital, a premier healthcare institution in Hyderabad, successfully organized a massive community wellness session early this morning at Krishna Kanth Park, Yousufguda.

Held in active collaboration with the Telugu Yoga Team and the Krishna Kanth Park Walker’s Association (KKR Walkers Association), the event drew an overwhelming response with 280 enthusiastic participants coming together to prioritize long-term physical and mental well-being.

Aligned with this year’s pivotal theme, Hoga for Healthy Ageing,” the session commenced at 5:00 AM under clear morning skies. The gathering brought together senior citizens, working professionals, hospital staff, and local residents to participate in a specially curated sequence of Asanas (postures), Pranayama (breathing exercises), and meditation techniques designed to combat age-related health issues and enhance cardiac fitness.

The event was graced by prominent community leaders, including Sri R. Pruthvi Teja from the Telugu Yoga Team, along with the leadership of the KKR Walkers Association, represented by President Sri Vajra Lingam (Sthapakudu)and General Secretary Sri P. Venkata Narasimha Reddy. Their joint mobilization efforts turned the park into a vibrant hub of positive energy and preventive health advocacy.

Underscoring the hospital’s core vision for institutional and preventative healthcare, Dr. Hari Kumar Reddy, CEO of Aster Prime Hospital, stated, “At Aster Prime Hospital, our mission extends beyond the walls of our clinical theatres; we are deeply committed to embedding wellness into the daily fabric of the communities we serve.

Milestones like International Yoga Day allow us to champion preventative health strategy at a grassroots level. By partnering with local associations, we aim to empower individuals with the knowledge and practices necessary to lead active, vibrant, and healthier lives as they age.”

Emphasizing the specific medical and preventive benefits of the initiative, Dr. Sai Ravi Shanker, Senior Consultant- Cardiology, Aster Prime Hospital, delivered an inspiring message to the community regarding the importance of yoga in maintaining a healthy heart “Yoga is far more than a physical routine; it is a clinical and therapeutic shield for long-term health. As we embrace the concept of ‘Yoga for Healthy Ageing,’ our primary focus must expand toward cardiovascular preservation.

Regular practice significantly reduces systemic stress, regulates blood pressure, and improves arterial elasticity—making it an indispensable tool for maintaining a healthy heart as we age. Our goal is to transition from treating cardiovascular conditions to actively preventing them through powerful lifestyle interventions like yoga.”

Medical professionals present highlighted that chronic issues such as coronary diseases, hypertension, and joint deterioration can be managed effectively when yoga is integrated alongside modern medical care. The 280-strong crowd participated with remarkable synchronicity, reinforcing Aster Prime Hospital’s ongoing commitment to bridging the gap between clinical excellence and lifestyle wellness at every stage of life.
