Comedian Raju Srivastava suffers a cardiac arrest

New Delhi: Stand-up comedian Raju Srivastava suffered a cardiac arrest today. He was rushed to All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi.

While working out in a gym, Srivastava had chest pain and collapsed. He was shifted to AIIMS where he was given cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) twice and revived. NDTV reported.

According to PTI, Srivastava had to be resuscitated twice and was rushed to catheterisation lab for emergency angiography. He is now said to be out of danger.

One of the most successful stand-up comedians in the country, Rajiv Srivastava is a popular name on television. Though he received recognition after participating in the first season of stand-up comedy show “The Great Indian Laughter Challenge”, he has been active in the entertainment industry since late 1980s. He was also one of the contestants on “Bigg Boss” season three.  He is currently the chairman of the Film Development Council Uttar Pradesh.
