Hyderabad: In a touching narrative, Arman Chaush, an eight-year-old boy battling a life-threatening ailment, saw his dream come true on Saturday. Donning a specially tailored police uniform, Arman became the Station House Officer at Banjara Hills police station for a brief yet memorable period. This wish materialized with the gracious permission of higher-ups in the Hyderabad police.
Arman, hailing from Adilabad, is currently undergoing treatment at the Mehdi Nawaz Jung Institute of Oncology and Regional Cancer Centre. Naresh Reddy, Assistant Program Director of Make a Wish Foundation Hyderabad, explained, “During a routine interaction with our volunteers, he expressed his fervent desire to become a police officer. We reached out to the higher-ups of the Hyderabad police, and they facilitated his visit to Banjara Hills police station.”
On Saturday, Arman arrived at the police station dressed in a miniature police uniform, complete with a toy pistol tucked into his waist belt. Inside the station, he assumed the role of the Inspector, occupying the seat for a while.
Banjara Hills Inspector P Sateesh shared, “The child displayed great curiosity, exploring every nook of the police station, keenly observing aspects such as the lock-up and the arms stored on the premises.”
At the conclusion of his visit, Arman radiated joy, clearly relishing every moment spent at the police station as an honorary “police officer.” Notably, he formed a special bond with Sub Inspector Karunakar Reddy during his memorable visit.
