The new service has been introduced across the hospital’s Banjara Hills (Stork Home), Bogulkunta, and Hyderguda centres, extending Fernandez Hospital’s long-standing expertise in maternal and newborn healthcare into paediatric inpatient care.

Hyderabad: Fernandez Hospital has expanded its healthcare services with the launch of Little Fernz, a dedicated paediatric inpatient care service aimed at providing specialised medical treatment and family-centred support for children requiring short hospital stays.
The new service has been introduced across the hospital’s Banjara Hills (Stork Home), Bogulkunta, and Hyderguda centres, extending Fernandez Hospital’s long-standing expertise in maternal and newborn healthcare into paediatric inpatient care.
Designed for children who require close observation, timely medical intervention, and short-term hospitalisation, Little Fernz combines expert paediatric care with child-friendly facilities and continuous family support.
Speaking on the launch, Dr Sunil Pawar, Head of Neonatology and Paediatrics at Fernandez Hospital, said timely treatment and careful monitoring are crucial when children require hospital care.
“When a child needs hospital care, timely treatment and close observation can make all the difference. Little Fernz brings together experienced paediatricians, dedicated nursing care, and a family-centred environment where children receive expert care while parents remain close throughout their recovery,” he said.
The facility is equipped to manage a range of common childhood illnesses that may require observation or brief admission, including fever-related illnesses, gastroenteritis with dehydration, bronchiolitis, asthma exacerbations, febrile seizures, mild pneumonia, and infants requiring closer medical monitoring.

Highlighting the hospital’s vision behind the initiative, Dr Evita Fernandez said the launch marks an important step in extending the hospital’s trusted care beyond childbirth and newborn services.
“For over seven decades, families have trusted Fernandez during some of life’s most precious beginnings. With Little Fernz, we are building on that trust by extending our care beyond birth and into the growing years of childhood. We understand how overwhelming it can be when a child is unwell, and our goal is to create a space where children receive expert care while families feel supported, reassured, and close to the people who matter most,” she said.
According to the hospital, Little Fernz has been developed with a family-first approach, featuring mother-friendly rooms, child-focused nursing care, calm healing spaces, and round-the-clock monitoring by experienced paediatric teams, ensuring both children and their families receive comprehensive support during hospitalisation.
With the launch of Little Fernz, Fernandez Hospital aims to strengthen paediatric inpatient care in Hyderabad while continuing its legacy of providing compassionate, patient-centred healthcare for families across generations.
