Authorities said a formal notice will also be issued to the restaurant over the observed violations.

MMC Commissioner Orders Strict Action Against Food Safety Violations

The MMC Commissioner directed strict action against food safety violations as the Food Safety Officers (FSOs) of Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation (MMC) carried out a joint inspection at M/s MasterChef Restaurant, located at Uppal Cross Road, Uppal Zone, on 01.07.2026.

The inspection was conducted to ensure that the restaurant complied with food safety and hygiene standards.

During the inspection, officials identified several deficiencies and imposed a ₹25,000 penalty on the establishment. According to the municipal authorities, a formal notice will also be issued regarding the violations.

The deficiencies identified during the inspection include:

  • Non-vegetarian food items were stored under unsuitable conditions.
  • Food items were left uncovered, increasing the risk of cross-contamination.

  • The store room was unhygienic, and food items were stored without pallets.
  • Pest control records were not maintained.
  • Several food items were found without proper labels.

Current Status

Officials confirmed that a ₹25,000 penalty has been imposed on M/s MasterChef Restaurant, Uppal Cross Road, Uppal Zone, following the food safety inspection conducted on 01.07.2026. The Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation (MMC) will also issue a formal notice to the establishment for the observed food safety and hygiene violations.
