Gandhi Nagar SI Caught by ACB Accepting Rs 50,000 Bribe, Arrested in Hyderabad

Gandhi Nagar Police Station SI V. Narsimhulu was caught by ACB in Hyderabad for allegedly demanding Rs 1 lakh bribe and accepting Rs 50,000. The officer has been arrested and the case is under investigation.

In a major Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) operation, Sri V. Narsimhulu, Sub Inspector of Police, Gandhi Nagar Police Station, Hyderabad, was caught red-handed by ACB, City Range-1, Hyderabad, on June 23, 2026, at about 1730 hours. According to the ACB press note, the officer allegedly demanded Rs 1,00,000 as a bribe and accepted a part payment of Rs 50,000 from a complainant to perform an official duty, namely issuing station bail and not harassing the complainant in the future in the above registered case. The accused officer has been arrested and the case is under investigation.

ACB Trap: SI V. Narsimhulu Allegedly Demanded Rs 1 Lakh Bribe

According to Press Note No: 98, issued by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Telangana, the accused officer, Sri V. Narsimhulu, was trapped by ACB, City Range-1, Hyderabad.

The ACB stated that the officer allegedly demanded Rs 1,00,000/- as a bribe and accepted a part payment of Rs 50,000/- from the complainant.

The alleged purpose of the bribe was:

  • To issue station bail.
  • To not harass the complainant in the future in the above registered case.

The details of the complainant have been withheld for security reasons.

Rs 50,000 Tainted Bribe Amount Recovered

The ACB stated that the tainted bribe amount of Rs 50,000/- was recovered from the possession of the accused officer at his instance.

According to the press note, “Thus, the AO performed his duty improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage.”

Gandhi Nagar SI Arrested, To Be Produced Before Special Court

Following the operation, the accused officer is being arrested and produced before the Hon’ble Principal Special Judge for SPE & ACB Cases, Nampally, for judicial remand.

The ACB confirmed that the case is under investigation.
