Hyderabad: The Telangana state government has issued orders (GO Ms 50) to increase the Dearness Allowance (DA) for government employees and (GO Ms 51) to raise the Dearness Relief (DR) for state government pensioners. The revised DA for government employees is now 22.75 percent of the basic pay, effective from January 1, 2022, compared to the previous 20.02 percent. The DA for employees in the Revised Pay Scales, 2015 has been raised from 55.536 percent to 59.196 percent of the basic pay. The rate of DA for employees in UGC/AICTE/SNJPC Pay Scales, 2016 has been revised from 31 percent to 34 percent of the basic pay for teaching staff of universities, government-aided and affiliated degree colleges, medical colleges, polytechnics, and judicial officers. Similarly, the rate of DA for employees in UGC/AICTE/FNJPC Pay Scales, 2006 has been increased from 196 percent to 203 percent of the basic pay.
The government has also revised the DR for state government pensioners. The DR for pensioners in the Revised Pay Scales, 2015 has been raised from 55.536 percent to 59.196 percent of the basic pension. For pensioners in UGC/AICTE/SNJPC Pay Scales, 2016, the DR has been increased from 31 percent to 34 percent of the basic pension. Additionally, the DR for pensioners in UGC/AICTE/FNJPC Pay Scales, 2006, whose pension was not consolidated as per UGC Pay Scales, 2016, has been revised from 196 percent to 203 percent of the basic pension.
The increased DA and DR will be paid along with the salary and pension, respectively, for June 2023, which will be payable in July 2023. Separate orders will be issued regarding the payment of arrears from January 1, 2022, to May 31, 2023.
