Warangal: The Telangana government has appointed former Member of Parliament and former Warangal Mayor Gundu Sudharani as the new Chairperson of the Kakatiya Urban Development Authority (KUDA).
The state government issued formal orders confirming her appointment on Thursday. Sudharani replaces outgoing KUDA Chairperson Enagala Venkatram Reddy, who has been relieved of his duties as part of the administrative reshuffle.
Focus on Urban Development
Sudharani’s appointment is being seen as a significant move by the Telangana Congress government to strengthen urban governance and accelerate development initiatives across the Warangal region.
The KUDA jurisdiction covers the tri-cities of Warangal, Hanumakonda and Kazipet, where several infrastructure and civic development projects are under implementation.
Expectations from New KUDA Leadership
With her experience in municipal administration and civic leadership, Sudharani is expected to focus on the implementation of the master plan, expansion of road networks and improvement of urban infrastructure.
Her appointment is also expected to improve coordination between local urban bodies and various state government departments, helping speed up pending development works in the region.
