Warangal MGM Hospital Upgrades Addiction Treatment Facility to 20 Beds
In a major step towards supporting youth affected by substance abuse, an upgraded Addiction Treatment Facility (ATF) was inaugurated at MGM Hospital in collaboration with the Eagle Force on Thursday.
Warangal: In a major step towards supporting youth affected by substance abuse, an upgraded Addiction Treatment Facility (ATF) was inaugurated at MGM Hospital in collaboration with the Eagle Force on Thursday.
The facility has been established under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan in accordance with G.O. Ms. No. 4. It has been modernised on the initiative of Warangal Commissioner of Police N. Swetha, IPS, in coordination with MGM Hospital authorities.
Inpatient Capacity Doubled
The upgraded facility has expanded its inpatient capacity from 10 to 20 beds. It has also been equipped with reinforced security measures, CCTV surveillance and indoor recreational facilities, including carrom and chess, to support patients during their recovery.
Focus on Rehabilitation and Recovery
Commissioner N. Swetha stressed that policing should extend beyond punitive action against drug networks and focus on the rehabilitation of people affected by substance abuse.
Experienced medical professionals and counsellors will provide comprehensive de-addiction treatment at the facility, helping patients overcome dependency and return to healthy and responsible lives.
Families Urged to Seek Timely Help
Swetha urged families not to hide cases of substance dependency due to social stigma. She encouraged them to seek timely medical and professional intervention so that those struggling with addiction can receive appropriate treatment and support.
The upgraded facility is expected to strengthen Warangal’s efforts towards combating substance abuse while providing a supportive environment for recovery and rehabilitation.
