Hyderabad: Dr. Harrsha Samudrala, an artist based in Hyderabad, has rendered sketches of the suspect linked to the Bengaluru Rameshwaram Cafe blast, relying on an image disseminated by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday.

Dr. Harrsha, a seasoned artist, took to his social media channels on Thursday to unveil the sketches, directly tagging the NIA, Bengaluru Police, and the Bengaluru Commissioner of Police. His objective is to bolster the ongoing investigation, given the fugitive status of the suspect since the explosion occurred on March 1.

In an interview with Telangana Today, Dr. Harrsha disclosed that he was present in Bengaluru attending an event on the day of the blast and was informed about the incident while still in the city. “Upon seeing the CCTV footage shared by the NIA, depicting a partially visible face of the suspect, I felt compelled to utilize my artistic abilities to contribute,” remarked Dr. Harrsha.

With only limited details available from the CCTV footage, Dr. Harrsha meticulously zoomed in and relied on his creative imagination to compose the sketch of the suspect, who had obscured facial features due to a mask. “Elements like his light beard, thick mustache, glasses, and cap were crucial in crafting the sketch,” he elaborated.

Dr. Harrsha expressed appreciation for the positive feedback garnered, noting instances where individuals recognized similarities between the suspect and his sketches. He reiterated his commitment to supporting the investigation and offered further assistance if required.

When queried about his background in police sketching, Dr. Harrsha revealed that this endeavor marked his initial foray into sketching a suspect’s likeness, although authorities from Maharashtra had previously sought his aid in unsolved cases.

The NIA, on March 6, had announced a reward of Rs. 10 lakh for any leads leading to the apprehension of the suspected bomber.
