Hyderabad: Commenting upon the Hyderabad gang-rape case, Telangana Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali on Saturday said that no leniency is being adopted. He also clarified that the state police department works without pressure and does not spare the culprits.
“Action is taken as per the complaint. No leniency is being adopted. Telangana Police works without pressure and doesn’t spare culprits. It (arrest) took some time as there was a minor but our police work strictly,” ANI quoted the Home Minister as saying to media persons.
His comments came after Telangana BJP chief Bandi Sanjay wrote a letter to Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao demanding arrest of all the accused involved. He also called for handing over the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Meanwhile three accused including two minors have been arrested in the rape case so far.
A 17-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped on May 28 at Jubilee Hills while she was returning home after a party.
According to police a TRS leader and Waqf Board chairman’s son is involved in the matter. However, they claimed that they didn’t get any evidence related to AIMIM MLA’s son.
