Hyderabad: As Hyderabad gears up to celebrate Independence Day at the Rani Mahal lawns in Golconda, the Hyderabad traffic police have issued a comprehensive traffic advisory to ensure the smooth flow of traffic during the celebrations.
With the focus on maintaining order and safety, the advisory includes road closures, diversions, and alternate routes to accommodate the anticipated increase in vehicular movement. Moreover, a separate advisory is in place for the ‘At Home’ program at Raj Bhavan.
Road Closures and Timings
To facilitate the Independence Day celebrations, the Hyderabad traffic police have announced road closures between 7 am and 12 noon. Notably, the road from Ramdevguda to Golconda Fort will be closed for general vehicular traffic during this period.
Diversions for A (Gold), A (Pink), & B (Blue) Car Pass Holders
Participants holding A (Gold), A (Pink), and B (Blue) car passes have specific instructions to follow. The closed road from Ramdevguda to Golconda Fort will be exclusively accessible to them. Commuters from Secunderabad, Banjara Hills, Masab Tank, Mehdipatnam side are advised to take alternate routes via RethiBowli and Nanal Nagar Junctions. This will lead them to a designated path that includes Balika Bhavan, Langar House flyover, Tippu Khan Bridge, Ramdevguda junction, Makai Darwaza, and the Golconda Fort Gate for alighting.
Route Recommendations for D (Red) Car Pass Holders
For individuals possessing D (Red) Car Passes, the recommended route entails using Shaikpet Nala and Tolichowki, Seven Tombs side, Banjara Darwaza for access to the Priyadarshini School in Golconda. This route streamlines the flow of traffic and ensures convenient parking for attendees.
General Public and “E” Car Pass Holders
General public attendees holding “E” car passes are advised to approach the venue from under the Langer House flyover, execute a U-turn, and take a left turn towards Fateh Darwaza. This will lead them to HUDA park near Fateh Darwaza for parking. Additionally, those coming from Shaikpet and Tolichowki can park their vehicles inside the Seven Tombs area. Conveniently, free RTC buses are available at both locations to facilitate transportation to and from the event.
Post-Event Exit Routes
After the celebrations conclude, exit routes vary based on car pass categories. A (Gold), A (Pink), and B (Blue) Car Pass holders will exit through Makai Darwaza, Ramdevguda, and Langar Houz. Those with “C” car passes will use the routes of Bada Bazaar, Fathe Darwaza, or Banjara Darwaza and Seven Tombs. Meanwhile, “D” car pass holders will exit via Banjara Darwaza and Seven Tombs, and general public attendees should exit from their designated parking areas.
Easy Identification with Car Passes
All invitees are required to prominently display their car passes on the left side of their windshield. This measure aids in the efficient identification and management of vehicles during the event.
Raj Bhavan Traffic Advisory
In addition to the Independence Day celebrations at Rani Mahal lawns, a separate traffic advisory is in place for the ‘At Home’ program scheduled at Raj Bhavan. Commuters using the Raj Bhavan road are strongly urged to seek alternative routes between 4 pm and 8 pm. This recommendation is aimed at reducing inconvenience and ensuring smooth traffic flow in the vicinity.
