Hyderabad: Man issues threat to Modi, Shah, Yogi; Moghalpura police release him after arrest
Hyderabad: Moghalpura police arrested a man, who allegedly put up a social media post threatening Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
According to the police, the man, identified as Abdul Majid, had in the post threatened to kill the BJP leaders, while demanding an apology from RSS and BJP leaders for the controversial remarks on Prophet Muhammad made by suspended BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma.
Booking a case on its own against Abdul Majid for the inflammatory post, Hyderabad’s Moghalpura police arrested him on Wednesday. PTI reported.
A local court before which the man was produced, directed the police to give him a notice under Section 41A of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC).
As per Section 41A of the CrPC, in cases where one’s arrest is not immediately necessary, the police is supposed to issue a notice to the person against whom a reasonable complaint has been made in which he is directed to appear before a police officer.
Acting upon the court orders, police issued the notice to Abdul Majid, and released him.
