The restoration work of the historical wells in the city of Hyderabad and its surrounding areas is in progress.
As part of this, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has proposed the restoration of the well with spiral staircase located at Falaknuma bus Depot. The well is about 300 years old.
The restoration work will be done by HMDA in collaboration with Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) and Rainwater Project.
HMDA said that the Nizam of Hyderabad used the historic well, which is close to the palatial palace, as his personal swimming pool.
A memorandum of understanding has been signed between TSRTC and GHMC, a body active in restoration the well.
