Hyderabad Rattled by Midnight Thunderstorms — Rain, Lightning to Continue till This Date
Showers accompanied by lightning and gusty winds were reported late Monday night across many localities in the city. According to the IMD, these isolated thunderstorms are likely to remain active in Hyderabad and other districts of Telangana in the coming days.
Several areas across Hyderabad witnessed overnight thunderstorms and heavy rainfall on Monday night, a weather pattern expected to continue over the next 10 days. The Hyderabad Meteorological Department has forecast similar weather conditions until May 25.

As per data from the Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS), several areas in the city received considerable rainfall between Monday night and 8 AM on Tuesday. Some of the top rainfall figures include:

- Basthi Dawakhana, Kukatpally: 27.5 mm
- Ward Office, Allapur (Kukatpally): 26.5 mm
- Urban Health Centre, Hafeezpet (Serilingampally): 21.8 mm
- Zonal Commissioner Office, Yousufguda: 18.5 mm
- ESS Gajularamaram (Quthbullapur) & Pillidarga (Borabanda): 17.5 mm
- Moosapet: 15.5 mm
- Rahmathnagar Old Ward Office, Khairatabad: 10.8 mm
Temperature to Hover Between 37°C and 39°C
Despite the rains, maximum daytime temperatures in Hyderabad are expected to remain high. The MET department forecasts temperatures will hover around 37°C to 39°C in the coming days.
