The tragic incident that occurred on the Jaipur-Mumbai Central Superfast Express on a fateful Monday has left the nation in shock. Allegedly, four individuals lost their lives at the hands of Railway Protection Force (RPF) Constable Chetan Singh, who is now under scrutiny for his actions. Among the victims was Syed Saifullah, a 43-year-old resident of Hyderabad. The other three identified victims were Assistant Sub-Inspector Tikaram Meena, 57, from Sawai Madhopur in Rajasthan; Asgar Abbas Ali, 48, from Madhubani in Bihar; and Abdul Kadar Mohamed Hussain Bhanpurwala, 64, from Nalasopara in Palghar, Maharashtra.
According to Saifullah’s family, he had undertaken a spiritual journey to the Ajmer Sharif Dargah and was on his way back home to Hyderabad via Mumbai when the unimaginable tragedy struck. Saifullah was not only a family man but also the sole breadwinner, running a cellphone repair shop in Hyderabad’s Bazar Ghat area.
Zaffar Khan, a 76-year-old man who owned the premises where Saifullah’s shop was located, was reportedly accompanying him on the ill-fated journey. Khan’s relative, who preferred to remain anonymous, recounted the dreadful sequence of events. It is alleged that Constable Chetan Singh stormed into their coach, demanding Saifullah’s name. At gunpoint, Saifullah was forced to accompany the constable to the pantry car, where he was fatally shot. Khan courageously objected to this horrifying act and was met with the same threatening gun.
The aftermath of the incident was harrowing for Saifullah’s family. He was only identified on Tuesday afternoon, leaving his loved ones in a state of shock and despair. AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi expressed his condolences and support for Saifullah’s family, highlighting the tragic loss and the hardship faced by the surviving members. The family’s only request was for justice and compensation for their immeasurable loss, demanding a sum of Rs 5 crore for the suffering they have endured.
In addition to Saifullah’s heart-wrenching case, Bhanpurwala’s last rites were solemnly held on Tuesday morning. However, Abbas Ali’s family made a courageous stand by refusing to accept his body until their demands were met. They insisted on monetary compensation and a government job for his wife, considering the devastating impact of their loss on their family’s well-being.
