Hyderabad Task Force Seizes 173 Oxytocin Injections Worth Rs 50,000, Dairy Farm Operator Held

Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force seized 173 Oxytocin injections worth Rs 50,000 and arrested dairy farm operator Attheni Krishna in Shamshabad Zone.

The sleuths of the Commissioner’s Task Force, Shamshabad Zone Team apprehended an accused allegedly involved in procuring and illegally selling restricted Oxytocin injections to customers at higher prices for easy money.

The accused was identified as Attheni Krishna, aged about 45 years, engaged in dairy farm business and residing at Mankhal Village, Ranga Reddy District.

Officials seized 173 Oxytocin injections totaling 43.250 liters, with each bottle containing 250 ML. The seized material was valued at approximately Rs. 50,000/-.

Two Other Accused Absconding in Hyderabad Oxytocin Case

Police identified two additional accused persons in the case:

  • Khaled Ali @ Chatru Singh, allegedly the supplier of Oxytocin injections, currently absconding
  • Suresh, resident of Tukkuguda and alleged dairy farm customer, also absconding

Efforts are continuing to apprehend the remaining absconding accused.

Accused Allegedly Sold Restricted Oxytocin Injections to Dairy Farmers

According to police, Attheni Krishna was born and brought up in Mankhal Village under Tukkuguda Mandal in Ranga Reddy District and studied up to SSC level in the village.

About 15 years ago, he reportedly established a dairy farm in Mankhal village and also started a cattle feed shop named “Srikrishna Cattle Feed” at Tukkuguda to earn a livelihood.

Police stated that around 5 to 6 years ago, Krishna came into contact with Khaled Ali @ Chatru Singh, who allegedly offered to supply restricted Oxytocin injections at Rs. 50 per bottle.

According to investigators, Krishna allegedly recognized a high profit margin and began selling the injections illegally to local dairy farmers for Rs. 250 to Rs. 300 per bottle.

Officials said the injections were illicitly used to force buffaloes to yield more milk.

Supplier Allegedly Procured Oxytocin Injections From Gujarat

During further inquiry, police reportedly found that absconding accused Khaled Ali @ Chatru Singh allegedly procured bulk quantities of restricted Oxytocin injections from Gujarat and distributed them to Attheni Krishna and other illegal buyers in and around Hyderabad.

Police also stated that absconding accused Suresh regularly purchased the injections from Krishna to administer them to dairy buffaloes.

Shamshabad Task Force Seizes 173 Oxytocin Injections

Acting on a tip-off, the Shamshabad Zone Task Force apprehended Attheni Krishna and seized 173 Oxytocin injections from his possession.

The accused was later handed over to Pahadishareef Police Station for further legal action.

The operation was conducted under the supervision of K. Venkat Reddy along with SIs S. Seshu and K. Naga Raju and staff of Task Force, Shamshabad Zone along with Pahadishareef Police.

Police Explain Harmful Effects of Oxytocin Injections on Animals

Officials highlighted several harmful effects of frequent or unnecessary Oxytocin injections on animals, including:

  • Reproductive problems
  • Reduced natural fertility
  • Uterine stress
  • Mastitis (udder infection)
  • Dependence on injections for milk release

Harmful Effects on Humans Through Milk Consumption

Police also warned that Oxytocin residues can pass into milk, potentially causing health issues in humans.

According to officials, regular consumption of such milk may lead to:

  • Early puberty in children, especially young girls
  • Growth imbalances
  • Hormonal imbalance in men and women
  • Mood swings and reproductive issues
  • Increased risk of premature labor pains or miscarriages in pregnant women
  • Cardiovascular issues
  • Stomach cramping
  • Vision blurring

The Commissioner’s Task Force, Shamshabad Zone Team arrested dairy farm operator Attheni Krishna in Hyderabad for allegedly procuring and illegally selling restricted Oxytocin injections at higher prices. Officials seized 173 Oxytocin injections totaling 43.250 liters worth Rs. 50,000/- and stated that the injections were being used to force buffaloes to produce more milk.
