Begum Bazar Police Arrest Habitual Burglar, Recover Gold Worth Rs 30 Lakh
Begum Bazar Police Hyderabad arrested habitual burglar Amar Sonkambale and recovered 206 grams gold ornaments and Rs 2.14 lakh cash worth Rs 30 lakh in a house burglary case at Goshamahal.

Amar Sonkambale was apprehended by the police of Begum Bazar on 17.05.2026 in connection with a house burglary case reported under the limits of Begum Bazar Police Station, Hyderabad. The accused was arrested by the SHO Begum Bazar and the crime team under the supervision of K. Chandra Sekhar Reddy.

Details of the Accused Amar Sonkambale
According to police, the accused has been identified as Amar Sonkambale S/o Late Yadav Sonkambale, aged 20 years with Date of Birth 21.08.2005. He works as a waiter in function halls and was residing at C/o Footpath Near NM Guda, Kishan Bagh, Hyderabad. He is originally a native of Udgir Village, Lathore District, Maharashtra State.
Police stated that Amar Sonkambale was born and brought up in Kishan Bagh of Hyderabad city, while his parents belong to Maharashtra. Officials said the accused was addicted to lavish desires including consumption of alcohol, cigarettes, and attending pubs. As his earnings were insufficient to meet his expenses, he allegedly planned to commit thefts.
Police further stated that the accused is already involved in three house burglary cases and one POCSO case in Hyderabad city.

The following cases were registered against Amar Sonkambale:
- Cr. No. 191/2025 U/s 331(4), 305 BNS of PS Begum Bazar, Hyderabad
- Cr. No. 987/2025 U/s 305(A) BNS of PS Attapur, Hyderabad
- Cr. No. 129/2026 U/s 331(4), 305 BNS of Begum Bazar PS, Hyderabad
- Cr. No. 606/2025 U/s 333 BNS, Sec. 7 r/w 8 of POCSO Act 2012 of Attapur PS, Hyderabad
Facts of the Begum Bazar House Burglary Case
Police said that during the early morning hours of 06.05.2016 between 0330 hours and 05430 hours, a house-breaking by night case was reported under the limits of Begum Bazar Police Station at Hindi Nagar, Goshamahal.
M. Krishna lodged a complaint stating that gold ornaments weighing about 235 grams and cash of approximately Rs. 10,00,000/- were stolen from his residence located at 5-5-726/A, Hindi Nagar, Goshamahal, Begum Bazar, Hyderabad.
Based on the complaint, police registered a case in Cr. No. 129/2026 U/s 331(4), 305 BNS at Begum Bazar Police Station and initiated investigation into the matter.
CCTV Footage Helped Police Arrest the Accused
During the course of investigation, the SHO Begum Bazar and the crime team, under the supervision of ACP Goshamahal Division, analyzed CCTV footage and successfully apprehended the accused.
Police recovered the stolen case property from the possession of Amar Sonkambale.
The investigation and apprehension operation were carried out by P. Bharat Kumar and Detective SI K. Jagadeeshwar Rao along with the crime team of Begum Bazar Police Station.
The officers worked under the guidance of Chandra Mohan IPS and the supervision of ACP Goshamahal K. Chandra Sekhar Reddy.
Police Recover Rs 30 Lakh Property in Hyderabad Burglary Case
Begum Bazar Police stated that the accused Amar Sonkambale was apprehended in the Hyderabad house burglary case and gold ornaments weighing about 206 grams along with cash of Rs. 2,14,600/- worth around Rs. 30 lakhs were recovered within a short period.
The accused is currently under police custody and further investigation in the case is ongoing.
