Within approximately 30 minutes, powerful winds and heavy rainfall swept across many areas, including Dilsukhnagar, Uppal, LB Nagar, Vanasthalipuram, OU, Secunderabad, Himayat Nagar, Saroornagar, Amberpet, and other localities. Social media was flooded with videos showing doors blown open and huts destroyed by the intense weather.
Sunday’s temperatures ranged from 40°C to 42°C in most areas of Hyderabad, with Uppal recording the highest at 42.7°C. The heatwave extended across Telangana, where several districts reported blistering temperatures. Karimnagar recorded the highest at 47°C, followed by Jagtial at 46.5°C, Peddapalli at 46.4°C, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad at 45.9°C, Mancherial at 45.8°C, Adilabad at 45.7°C, and Nirmal at 45°C.
Looking ahead to Monday, the forecast predicts partly cloudy skies with similar wind patterns but no significant weather impacts. The India Meteorological Department-Hyderabad announced that dry weather is expected to prevail across Telangana for the next five days, with a rise in maximum temperatures by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius anticipated.
