The decision was announced on Sunday evening to ensure the safety of students. However, government and private offices will function as usual, while citizens have been advised to step out only if necessary.

According to a release issued by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), all:

will remain closed on Monday across Mumbai.
The civic administration said the decision was taken keeping in mind the safety of students.
IMD Issues Orange Alert for Mumbai
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an Orange Alert for Mumbai, forecasting:

- Gusty winds
The weather department’s forecast prompted the civic administration to announce the precautionary holiday.
Government and Private Offices to Function Normally
