HYDRAA Demolishes illegal Five-Storey Building on Government Land in Miyapur

Hyderabad: In a major enforcement action, the Hyderabad Demolition and Recovery Agency (HYDRAA) on Saturday razed an unauthorized five-storey building constructed on government land in Miyapur. The structure, reportedly built by Bhanu Constructions, had encroached on nearly 473 square yards of land belonging to the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA).
According to official sources, the developers had originally purchased Plot No.126 in a HUDA-approved layout at Ameenpur under Survey Nos. 337 and 338. However, they allegedly extended the construction into adjacent government land under Survey No.101 of Miyapur village, illegally creating new subplots marked as 126/D, 126/Part, and 126/C.

Investigations revealed that the builders, identified as Ellareddy and others associated with Bhanu Constructions, not only encroached upon HMDA property but also forged Layout Regularization Scheme (LRS) documents to legitimize the illegal construction. The Demand Draft (DD) shown as proof of payment for the LRS was also found to be fake.
Officials from the Ameenpur Police Station had earlier registered a case based on a complaint from HMDA authorities. Acting on the findings, HYDRAA officials, accompanied by representatives from the Revenue, HMDA, and Municipal departments, conducted an on-site inspection. They confirmed that the five-storey building had indeed been extended onto government land.
The investigation further revealed that the forged LRS papers were created in 2014, raising suspicions of long-standing irregularities. Following detailed verification, HYDRAA moved swiftly to demolish the portion of the structure that encroached upon 473 square yards of HMDA property.
Authorities confirmed that action was taken strictly within the extent of the illegal construction and that further proceedings would be initiated against the individuals responsible. The operation underscores HYDRAA’s ongoing commitment to reclaiming encroached public lands and curbing unauthorized constructions across the city.
