In a decisive move, the Hyderabad Road Development Authority (HYDRAA) on Friday demolished illegally constructed compound walls that were obstructing public roads in Suraram village of Quthbullapur Mandal.

The action was taken following a complaint by the Telangana Division of the Andhra Pradesh State Finance Corporation (APSFC). After inspecting the site, HYDRAA intervened to clear access to a disputed 1.26-acre plot.

According to officials, Varla Rajeshwara Rao had taken a loan from APSFC in 2010 by mortgaging this plot, with the intention of setting up an industrial unit. However, after he defaulted on the loan repayment, the Finance Corporation began the process of reclaiming the land. Their efforts were hindered when access roads to the property were illegally blocked off by constructed barriers.

In response, APSFC approached HYDRAA, which took immediate action and demolished the obstructions. With the compound walls removed, access to the land was restored, providing relief to nearby residents and local industrial units that had also been affected by the roadblocks.

The operation has not only cleared the path for the Finance Corporation’s proceedings but also improved connectivity in the area.
