Indians stranded in Ukraine: Here are helpline numbers

Hyderabad/Kyiv: Following Russia’s military operations on Ukraine, the Indian government on Thursday launched 24-hour helpline numbers for its citizens stranded in Ukraine, besides issuing three advisories to Indian nationals and students in Ukraine.

In its first advisory, the government asked Indian nationals to relocate to the western part of the country and to carry passports and necessary documents at all times. It also launched helpline numbers.

In a second message from Ambassador of India Indians were urged to stay wherever they are. They were requested to stay calm and face the situation with fortitude.

In the Third Advisory to all Indian Nationals/Students in Ukraine, Indian government requested them to be aware of their surroundings, be safe and were advised not to leave homes unless necessary. Again, they were asked to carry their documents all the times.

Embassy of India also sent a message to Government of Ukraine for safety & security of Indian Students in Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Ambassador of India interacted with Indian Students in Kyiv.

Ambassador also sent a video message to the Indian Nationals in Ukraine.

According to India Today, the central government also launched a 24-hour helpline to assist Indian students. A 24-hour control room has been set up in Delhi and the helpline numbers: +911123012113, +911123914104, +911123017905 and 1800118797.
