IPEMA–Poultry India Marks World Veterinary Day 2026 with Focus on Food Safety

Hyderabad: The Indian Poultry Equipment Manufacturers Association (IPEMA)–Poultry India joined hands with the Department of Poultry Science at the College of Veterinary Science (CVSc), Rajendranagar, to celebrate World Veterinary Day 2026, highlighting the critical role of veterinarians in ensuring food safety and public health.

The programme, held under the theme “Veterinarians: Guardians of Food and Health,” brought together academicians, students, and industry experts for a series of technical sessions and discussions.

Vice Chancellor Dr. M. Gnana Prakash attended as the chief guest, while Dr. M. Udaya Kumar was the guest of honour. Uday Singh Bayas, President of IPEMA–Poultry India, participated as a special guest and emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration between academic institutions and the poultry industry.

The event was chaired by Dr. R.M.V. Prasad, who underscored the need for continuous engagement between stakeholders to address emerging challenges in the sector.

As part of the celebrations, prizes were distributed to winners of an elocution competition on “Poultry Products and Lifestyle Diseases: Myths, Facts, and Veterinary Insights,” aimed at encouraging scientific thinking and awareness among students.

During the technical sessions, experts including Dr. Mujeeb Ather and Dr. Srinivas Rama Raju spoke on career opportunities in the poultry sector, entrepreneurship, and emerging industry trends. They encouraged students to explore diverse career paths within veterinary and poultry sciences.

The event served as a platform to highlight the expanding scope of veterinary science in public health and the growing significance of the poultry industry, while inspiring the next generation of professionals.
