The case dates back to October 15, 2011, when a Rail Roko protest was organized in Secunderabad as part of the Telangana statehood movement. During the protest, police registered a case and arrested multiple individuals involved in the agitation.

The case remained pending in the Public Representatives Court for years. The public prosecutor argued that the protest was held based on KCR’s call for action. However, KCR’s defense lawyer contended that the former CM was not physically present at the protest site when the incident took place.

After reviewing the arguments from both sides, the Telangana High Court dismissed the case against KCR, providing him legal relief in the long-standing issue.
