Malegaon blast: Pragya Singh Thakur’s motorbike identified by forensic experts

The anti-terrorist ATS claims that the motorbike used in the Malegaon blast case 2008 belonged to Sadhvi Pragya Thakur

Mumbai: In the Malegaon 2008 bomb blast case, forensic experts today identified the LML motorbike, the Unicorn motorbike and five bicycles seized from the bomb blast site by the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS).

The LML motorcycle, the bike on which the bomb was planted, was seen in a very bad condition. Both of its wheels were missing, the petrol tank was also seen to be ruptured and the seat and other parts were also burnt due to the blast.

The testimony of the special prosecution witness, who is a retired senior officer of the Forensic Science Laboratory, is going on for the last one week in the special NIA court.

The anti-terrorist ATS claims that the motorbike used in the Malegaon blast case 2008 belonged to Sadhvi Pragya Thakur, even though the National Investigation Agency (NIA) had given a clean chit to Sadhvi  Pragya Singh Thakur while filing the additional charge sheet. But after a clean chit was opposed by the bomb blast victims, the special NIA court issued an order to start the trial by indicting Sadhvi Pragya and other accused.

On the instructions of the Special Judge, two motorcycles and five bicycles were loaded into a tempo from ATS Kala Chowki and brought to the Mumbai Sessions Court today. The tempo was parked in the court premises.

Then from the special NIA court located on the fifth floor, special NIA judge Lahoti, special public prosecutor Avinash Rasal, lawyers of the accused JP Mishra, Prashant Mago, Sudeep Pasbola, advocate Shahid Nadeem representing the bomb blast victims (Jamiat Ulema, Maharashtra – Arshad Madani) and others went down and then court proceedings began.
