Mosque emerges from underwater in Bihar; video goes viral

Earlier, when the water level used to decrease, only a part of the dome above the mosque would be visible. However, this time, since the water has reduced to the ground the whole mosque has resurfaced.

Nawada: A 120-year-old mosque which was submerged in water for many years has now become completely visible in Bihar’s Chiraila village. As soon as the news spread, people thronged to get a glimpse of the mosque. Though it is still difficult to reach the mosque due to mud, it did not deter Muslim youths from entering the mud with slippers in their hands and reach near the mosque.

The mosque located at the southern end of Phulwaria Dam of Rajauli block in Bihar’s Nawada district, was completely submerged in water for three decades. Still the mosque is completely intact without any slightest damage.

The area had a large population of Muslims until 1984, the year in which Phulwaria Dam was constructed. The area was acquired for the construction of a dam and the people living in these places were displaced and settled in Hardiya. During the construction of the dam, the mosque was left as it is.

Earlier, when the water level used to decrease, only a part of the dome above the mosque would be visible. However, this time, since the water has reduced to the ground the whole mosque has resurfaced.
