Mumbai: Amid fears of provocation and brewing communal tensions, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leader Raja Singh has reached the Mira Road area of Mumbai, where the Shobha Yatra is scheduled to take place. Mira Road, where sectarian violence erupted during the inauguration ceremony of a temple last month, has been converted into a police zone following the incident.
Prior to participating in the Shobha Yatra, Raja Singh interacted with media representatives, assuring them that his rally, including his visit to Mira Road in Maharashtra, poses no threat to peace. He also affirmed his commitment to abide by the conditional permission granted by the High Court.
It’s noteworthy that Mumbai police had earlier imposed restrictions on Raja Singh’s rally, but after obtaining conditional permission from the Mumbai High Court, he was allowed to proceed. However, in the meantime, the police have completely cordoned off the Muslim area and imposed stringent security measures.
