The deceased has been identified as Bharati Mukhi, an employee of a Lifestyle store. She was reportedly crossing the road when the car allegedly driven by Sanjush hit her at high speed, resulting in her death on the spot.
According to allegations, Madhapur police initially registered a case under BNS Section 106(1), which reportedly enabled the accused to obtain station bail. Notices were issued, and he was allowed to leave, triggering questions over the sections applied in the case.
Legal experts have reportedly raised concerns, arguing that more stringent provisions, including BNS Section 105 and Section 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act, could be applicable depending on the facts and evidence of the case. Police have reportedly stated that additional sections may be considered after receiving forensic reports, including the accused’s blood sample analysis.
Allegations have also surfaced that attempts were made to influence the handling of the case and protect the accused. According to the claims, a senior police officer and other personnel allegedly held discussions with members of the accused’s family soon after the accident. These allegations have not been independently established.

Questions have also been raised over allegations that efforts were made to portray another person, allegedly a private driver, as being behind the wheel. However, the emergence of videos reportedly recorded by a bystander brought renewed attention to the case.
Transport department officials who reportedly examined the accident site estimated that the vehicle was travelling at around 80 kmph. However, officials also stated that the absence of CCTV cameras at the location made it difficult to establish the complete sequence of events.
The lack of CCTV surveillance in such a busy area has also drawn criticism from members of the public, with questions being raised about why no cameras were available to capture the incident.
Police are expected to continue their investigation, while the allegations regarding the registration of the case, the handling of evidence and possible attempts to shield the accused are likely to remain under scrutiny.
