NDSA to investigate designs and construction of the Kaleswaram project

The National Dam Safety Authority (NDSA) has taken a significant step by appointing a committee to thoroughly study the designs and construction of the Medigadda, Annaram, and Sundilla barrages within the Kaleswaram project.

Hyderabad: The National Dam Safety Authority (NDSA) has taken a significant step by appointing a committee to thoroughly study the designs and construction of the Medigadda, Annaram, and Sundilla barrages within the Kaleswaram project.

The former Chairman of the Central Water Commission, J. A. Chandrasekhar Iyer, has been designated as the Chairman of the committee, which comprises a five-member team.

The committee members include UC Vidyarthi, Scientist E, Central Soil and Materials Research Station, New Delhi; R Patil, Scientist E, Central Water and Power Research Station, Pune; Shiv Kumar Sharma, Director, BCD (E & NE), Directorate, Central Water Commission, New Delhi; Rahul Kumar Singh, Director, Gates (W & S), CWC & Director (Disaster & Resilience), NDSA, New Delhi; and Amitabh Meena, Director (Technical), NDSA, New Delhi.

The committee is tasked with thoroughly examining the designs and construction of the Medigadda, Annaram, and Sundilla barrages, as well as investigating the causes of any damage incurred.

A comprehensive report is expected to be submitted to the National Dam Safety Authority within four months, as stated in an official statement.
