Nivin Pauly Accused in Rape Case: Reactions, Counter Accusations, and Conspiracy Theories Amid Industry Shake-ups

Malayalam actor-producer Nivin Pauly has been named in a rape case, adding to the growing list of industry figures facing allegations in the wake of the Hema Committee report.

Malayalam actor-producer Nivin Pauly has been named in a rape case, adding to the growing list of industry figures facing allegations in the wake of the Hema Committee report. The case has sent shockwaves through the film industry, which is reeling from a series of high-profile accusations.

Details of the Case

Nivin Pauly is the sixth accused in a case filed under Section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code at the Oonnukal police station. The complainant alleges that she was lured to Dubai under the pretext of an audition for a film and was sexually assaulted in a hotel room.

Nivin Pauly’s Response

Pauly has vehemently denied the allegations. In a press conference, he labeled the accusations as baseless and part of a conspiracy. “It’s a baseless allegation, and it’s the first time I am facing such a situation. When I see false news regarding this, it affects me and my family. I haven’t done anything wrong and that’s the reason I immediately decided to meet the media,” Pauly stated. He emphasized his determination to clear his name and expressed his willingness to cooperate fully with any investigation.

The actor also revealed that a similar complaint was made against him about a month ago, which was initially dismissed by the police as lacking merit. “The Circle Inspector informed me that there was no merit in the complaint and that it was likely fake. I was advised not to file a counter-complaint, as some people seek quick fame through such allegations,” Pauly explained.

The Audition That Never Happened

According to Pauly, the complainant was promised an audition for a new film, but he clarified that his team only conducted an online casting call and no in-person auditions were held. Pauly suggested that the allegations might stem from someone disappointed by not being shortlisted. “We conducted an online casting call and did not hold any in-person auditions. I believe the allegations could be part of a conspiracy,” he speculated.

Impact of the Hema Committee Report

The Hema Committee report, released on August 19, has dramatically altered the landscape of the Malayalam film industry, revealing widespread sexual exploitation and abuse of power. The Kerala government has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe these cases, including the recent accusations against Pauly. The Oonnukal police station, which initially dismissed the complaint, is now compelled to take action.

Nivin Pauly is among several prominent figures in the industry, including Mukesh, Siddique, Jayasurya, and Ranjith, who have faced similar allegations following the report. The unfolding events continue to stir controversy and highlight deep-seated issues within the industry.
