Police torture on Muslims in Uttar Pradesh continues unabated. Fresh atrocities against Muslims by the UP police have been reported after the recent protest over remarks by expelled BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma on Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
Twitter users have lamented one-sided and discriminatory action against Muslims.
Journalist Rana Ayyub writes, “Huge trigger warning. This image has killed me, it is disturbing to post it. But this singular image symbolises the brutality that has been unleashed on Indian muslims by the state. 15 year old Mudassir had stepped out to protest against hate speech, shot in cold blood by cops”
Rana Ayyub shared another video claiming, “An ex-high ranking police official , pictured in uniform celebrating the attack on Muslims, calls it an act of utmost satisfaction on his timeline. This prejudice will not be called out by the state, he might just be elevated as an elected representative.”

A twitter user Ashok Swain posted a video writing, “Indian Police and Muslim Youths! Even Taliban will be ashamed of this.”
He posted another video stating, “Indian Police and Muslim Protesters – There is no Rule of Law, only Naked Majoritarian Brutality!”
Another twitter user laments, “Muslims can be thrashed on roads for appearing like Muslims, someone can be killed in suspicion of being a Muslim, Muslims can be killed in police custody or even in jails, Muslims can be lynched in suspicion of beef. Yes, India is heaven for Muslim.”
Face of the anti-Citizenship Amendment Bill protest at the Jamia Milia Islamia University Ladeeda Farzana rues, “Muslims can be lynched for being muslim.Muslim can be arrested for being muslim.Muslims can be beaten up for being muslim.Muslim can be raped for being muslim.Muslim can be forcefully ‘vanished’ for being muslim.Anything can happen to Muslims because this country’s name is INDIA.”
A twitter user Friedrich Pieter urges US govt to speak out against Indian police atrocities against Muslims saying, “Indian police have murdered two Muslim teens for daring to protest against derogatory remarks towards Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). This will only get worse. US government must speak out.”
