Qatar suspends visitor visas; here’s why

Visitor visas will be temporarily suspended by Qatar during the 2022 FIFA World Cup that will start in November.

Taking to twitter, the Qatari Interior Ministry announced that it will not allow visitors to enter the country by air, land and sea between Nov. 1 to Dec. 23. Entry to the country will be only through Hayya Card.

Hayya Card is operated by Qatar and is mandatory for all the fans who want to attend the World Cup matches. Hayya Card is an entry permit to Qatar and its stadiums during the football tournament, its holders can remain in Qatar until Jan. 23, 2023.

The World Cup will kick off on Nov. 20.
