A special enforcement drive against public drinking, smoking, and ganja consumption was conducted on May 7, 2026, within the limits of Secunderabad Zone. During the operation, police booked 110 violators, including 81 persons for consuming alcohol in public places, 28 persons for smoking publicly, and one person for consuming ganja.

The special drive was conducted from 06:30 hrs to 08:30 hrs under the supervision of Rakshitha Krishna Murthy.
38 Police Teams Conduct Special Drive Across Secunderabad Zone
Police officials said a total of 38 police teams were formed for the operation.
The teams inspected isolated and vulnerable locations across Secunderabad Zone, including:
- Parks under GHMC
- Graveyards
- Wine shops
- Other identified dark spots
The drive was aimed at preventing public nuisance caused by open drinking, smoking, and drug-related activities.
81 People Found Consuming Alcohol in Public Places
During the operation, police found:
- 81 persons consuming alcohol in public places
- 28 persons smoking in public areas
- 1 person consuming ganja
Cases were registered against all violators.
Police officials said the accused persons were also counseled and warned against repeating such activities, which create inconvenience and disturbance for the general public.
Hyderabad Police to Continue Special Enforcement Drives
Police said similar special drives against:
- Open boozing
- Smoking in public places
- Ganja-related activities
will continue in the future throughout Secunderabad Zone.
The operation was carried out with the participation of all ACPs, SHOs, and staff members of Secunderabad Zone police.
Drive Conducted Under Supervision of DCP Rakshitha Krishna Murthy
The special enforcement drive was conducted under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police Rakshitha Krishna Murthy, IPS.
Senior police officers monitored inspections and enforcement activities at various sensitive and vulnerable locations during the operation.
The current status of the cases remains under police process following registration against all violators.
