Hyderabad: The Mahankali Police, Secunderabad, solved a mobile snatching case within 24 hours and arrested 4 offenders, including Nadiga Rakesh (19) and Mokati Abhinesh (18). The incident occurred at Patny X Roads when a complainant’s Samsung mobile phone was snatched by three persons on a black Activa without number plate. The accused were traced using CCTV and investigation is ongoing.

Incident at Patny X Roads: Mobile Snatched in Early Morning
According to police:
- Complaint filed by Palle Prashanth Kumar S/o Palle Srinivasa Rao, aged 41 years, private employee, resident of H.No.16-17, Sri Krupa Residency, G.B. Palya, Bangalore
- Date: 29.04.2026
- Time of complaint: 0645 hours
- Incident time: around 0600 hours
He had come from Bangalore to Secunderabad for passport verification at Nizamabad and got down at Patny X Roads.
While walking towards JBS Bus Station and booking a cab:
- Three unknown persons (aged 20–25) came on a black Activa without number plate
- The middle rider snatched his Samsung mobile phone
- The accused fled the scene

After receiving the complaint:
- Police alerted mobile parties and crime staff
- CCTV footage was analyzed
- A special strategy was implemented
Result:
- Three accused arrested within 24 hours
- Based on confession, another accused Rakesh was arrested

Modus Operandi of the Gang
Police revealed:
- All 4 accused were friends from Vinayak Nagar, Neredmet, Medchal Malkajgiri District
- They targeted people using mobile phones while walking
- Rakesh was the kingpin who planned the crime
Key incidents:
- On 27-04-2026, they stole Honda Activa TS08EV3660 from Uppal Police Station limits
- On 29-04-2026 at 0600 hours, committed mobile snatching at Patny X Roads
- Also involved in vehicle theft cases in Gandhi Nagar and Meerpet Police Station areas
