TDP Leader Suspended for Alleged Assault and Public Humiliation of Woman

Guntur: A local functionary of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has been suspended from the party after he was accused of assaulting and allegedly stripping a woman during a dispute in Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh.
According to police and local reports, the incident occurred on July 15 in Krishnababu Colony under the city’s 21st Division. The accused, identified as Mallela Venkatramanamoorthi, the TDP’s 21st Division Secretary, allegedly entered into a verbal altercation with a woman who was drawing water from a well in front of her house using a motor pump.

The incident reportedly came to light several days later after the victim approached the police and filed a complaint.
Following the allegations, Guntur West MLA Galla Madhavi suspended Venkatramanamoorthi from the Telugu Desam Party pending further inquiry.
Based on the victim’s complaint, police registered a case against Venkatramanamoorthi, his sister, and seven other individuals. All the accused have reportedly been taken into custody, and an investigation is underway.
Police are continuing their probe to establish the sequence of events and determine further legal action. Authorities have assured that the case will be investigated thoroughly in accordance with the law.
