Telangana State Formation Day was celebrated on a grand scale at the City Armed Reserve (CAR) Headquarters in Petlaburzu, Hyderabad, on Tuesday. Hyderabad City Commissioner of Police Sri V.C. Sajjanar, IPS, attended as the Chief Guest, unfurled the National Flag, paid rich tributes to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for Telangana statehood, and received the ceremonial Guard of Honour from police contingents. During the celebrations, the Commissioner highlighted major citizen-centric reforms, AI-based policing initiatives, anti-cybercrime measures, food adulteration enforcement drives, women empowerment programmes, and training achievements of Hyderabad City Police.

CP V.C. Sajjanar Pays Tribute to Telangana Martyrs
The Telangana State Formation Day celebrations were organized at the City Armed Reserve Headquarters in Petlaburzu, Hyderabad.
Sri V.C. Sajjanar, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad City, graced the event as the Chief Guest. He unfurled the National Flag and paid rich tributes to the martyrs who laid down their lives for the cause of Telangana statehood.
He later received the ceremonial Guard of Honour presented by police contingents.
Addressing the gathering, the Commissioner extended his warm wishes on the historic occasion of Telangana State Formation Day, which was achieved after a long and arduous struggle.
He urged police personnel to continuously strive toward fulfilling the ideals and dreams of the Telangana martyrs.
Hyderabad City Police Reforms and Public Governance Initiatives
The Commissioner highlighted several citizen-centric reforms, progressive initiatives and milestones achieved by Hyderabad City Police in line with the government’s public governance policies.
According to him, these initiatives are aimed at ensuring robust law and order while strengthening community participation.
Grand Health Challenge Covers Nearly 20,000 Police Personnel
Under the Grand Health Challenge, Hyderabad City Police conducted comprehensive medical examinations for nearly 20,000 personnel.
Based on medical profiles, personnel were categorized into:
- Category A
- Category B
- Category C
- Category D
- Category E
This classification was introduced to facilitate tailored health profiling.
In addition, a dedicated Health Volunteer has been appointed in every Police Station to continuously monitor medical assistance and lifestyle interventions for police personnel.
C-Mitra Virtual Police Officer Registers 1,130 Zero FIRs
The Commissioner said Hyderabad City Police introduced ‘C-Mitra’, a nation-first Virtual Police Officer system, as part of AI-driven modern policing.
The platform enables victims to draft complaints and register FIRs from their homes without visiting a police station.
Through the system:
- 1,130 Zero FIRs have been registered
- 380 cybercrime cases have been registered
AI Cop-Writer and SOC-EYE Strengthen Digital Policing
The AI Cop-Writer application has been deployed to ensure swift, systematic and efficient registration of complaints.
The Commissioner also highlighted the use of ‘SOC-EYE’, an AI-based application designed to strengthen digital security and protect women and children.
The application is being used to continuously monitor online threats and malicious social media posts.
H-FAST Wing Registers 173 Cases, Seizes 95 Tonnes of Adulterated Food
The Commissioner stated that the H-FAST (Hyderabad Food Adulteration Safety Team) division was formed specifically to safeguard public health by combating food adulteration.
Within a short period, the wing:
- Registered 173 cases
- Seized approximately 95 tonnes of adulterated food products
He described the initiative as an important step toward ensuring food safety for citizens.
Spandana Teams Responding to 30 Complaints Daily
The ‘Spandana – Immediate Protection’ emergency response teams are currently attending to an average of 30 complaints per day.
The teams provide rapid relief to victims and have successfully responded to more than 1,000 emergency calls recently.
Hyderabad Police to Train 300 Women Personnel for Patrol Duties
Highlighting women empowerment in policing, the Commissioner announced that the department will soon provide professional driving training to 300 women police personnel.
The initiative aims to actively integrate women personnel into:
- Patrol Mobile duties
- Blue Colts duties
Record 2.30 Lakh Hours of Training for Police Staff
To improve professional standards, leadership qualities, soft skills and advanced investigation techniques, Hyderabad City Police imparted a record 2.30 lakh hours of training to its personnel.
The training was conducted through 14 innovative modules, including:
- POWER
- The Genesis of a Great Transformation
The Commissioner said these programmes have helped strengthen the capabilities of police personnel.
Zero Tolerance Against Cybercrime and Drugs
Reaffirming a ‘Zero Tolerance’ policy towards cybercrime, the Commissioner said Cyber Simba volunteers are conducting door-to-door cyber awareness campaigns every Saturday.
He also stated that the Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) has been significantly strengthened to eradicate the drug menace.
The Commissioner asserted that no offender will be spared regardless of their stature.
Citizens Asked to Report Drugs, Food Adulteration and Illegal Activities
The Commissioner appealed to citizens to actively partner with Hyderabad City Police in making Hyderabad a safe global city.
He urged residents to immediately report information related to:
- Drugs
- Food adulteration
- Illicit activities
Citizens can provide information by dialing 100, he said.

The event was attended by senior police officers including:
