The award recognizes Telangana Police’s efforts in providing fast, transparent and citizen-focused passport verification services. The recognition has already been conferred, and Telangana Police continues its passport verification operations across the state.
Passport Verification Performance Numbers Highlight Achievement
Sharing the department’s performance figures for FY 2025-26, CV Anand stated that the numbers reflect the scale of Telangana Police’s passport verification work:
- 7.87 lakh passport verification requests received
- 7.73 lakh applications verified and processed swiftly
- Average verification turnaround of less than 7 days
- 7th national-level award in passport services since 2014
The DGP described the seventh national-level award since 2014 as a record reflecting consistent excellence in passport-related services.
VeriFast Software Credited as Key Driver of Success
CV Anand stated that a major factor behind the achievement is VeriFast, a software developed in 2014 when he was Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad and later adopted across Telangana.
According to the DGP, VeriFast is an AI-powered technology platform developed in-house by Telangana Police.
The platform integrates:
- Applicant data
- CCTNS
- Prior passport records
- Criminal databases
Officials stated that VeriFast enables rapid detection of discrepancies and ensures accurate, tamper-proof verification.
The application is available on:
- Android
- iOS
The DGP further stated that the platform keeps applicants informed at every stage of the verification process and that slot-booking convenience is coming soon.

CV Anand said the recognition belongs to every field officer whose dedication and professionalism helped make fast, transparent and citizen-first verification a reality every day.
