CM Revanth Reddy Reaffirms Commitment to Musi River Front and Bharat Future City Projects; Rs 35.50 Crore Development Works Launched
CM Revanth Reddy launched Vanamahotsavam-2026 at Gurranguda Eco Park and reaffirmed commitment to the 55-km Musi River Front and Bharat Future City projects. Development works worth Rs 35.50 crore were inaugurated.

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy reiterated that the prestigious Musi River Front Development and Bharat Future City projects, which are aimed at transforming the image of Telangana, will be completed under all circumstances. He said the government is working with the determination to ensure that Hyderabad does not face the pollution and flood-related problems being experienced by major metropolitan cities such as Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru.

The Chief Minister launched Vanamahotsavam-2026 by planting a sapling at Gurranguda Eco Park in the LB Nagar constituency. He also visited a photo exhibition set up at the Eco Park. During the programme, development works worth Rs 35.50 crore related to afforestation, wildlife conservation and environmental protection were launched. The projects are currently being implemented.
Rs 35.50 Crore Development Works Inaugurated
As part of Vanamahotsavam-2026, the Chief Minister inaugurated various development works worth Rs 35.50 crore related to:
- Plantation drives
- Forest development
- Wildlife conservation
- Nature protection
He also launched works worth Rs 17.84 crore in the Gurranguda Reserve Forest.
Projects Worth Rs 17.66 Crore Launched Across Multiple Districts
From Gurranguda, the Chief Minister virtually inaugurated development projects worth Rs 17.66 crore in:
- Nizamabad
- Kothagudem
- Hanumakonda
- Medak
- Mahabubnagar
- Mulugu
- Narayanpet
- Bhupalpally
- Sangareddy
- Rangareddy
- Warangal
The projects include:
- Urban parks
- Eco parks
- Wildlife conservation works
- Zoo modernization
- Residential buildings
- Environmental infrastructure facilities
Musi River Front Development to Be Built at International Standards
Addressing the gathering, CM Revanth Reddy explained the challenges faced by major cities in India and said the Musi River Front would be developed at international standards.
The Chief Minister stated:
“Whatever anyone may think, we will complete the rejuvenation of the Musi River. It is my responsibility to complete the international-standard River Front from Gandipet to Gaurelli across 55 km. We will develop Bharat Future City in a way that attracts tourists from across the world. We will develop the Musi River Front even better than the riverfronts of the Sabarmati, Ganga and Yamuna rivers.”
According to the Chief Minister:
- The Musi River Front will extend from Gandipet to Gaurelli
- The project will cover 55 kilometres
- Bharat Future City will be developed to attract global tourists
Development Focus on LB Nagar and Surrounding Areas
The Chief Minister stated that during the previous government’s tenure, development activities in Hyderabad and Rangareddy districts were concentrated in only one region.
He said areas including:
- LB Nagar
- BN Reddy Nagar
- Vanasthalipuram
- Hayathnagar
- Gurranguda
- Bairamalguda
- Saib Nagar
did not receive adequate development despite being located nearby.
He added that the government decided to focus development efforts on these areas after reviewing the issue.
International Fruit Market Being Built at Rs 2,400 Crore
Revanth Reddy said that an international-standard Fruit Market is being constructed at a cost of Rs 2,400 crore as part of the development initiatives in the region.
Gurranguda Land Protected Through Supreme Court Intervention
The Chief Minister said that certain private individuals had allegedly attempted to encroach upon Gurranguda land, develop layouts and sell plots.
According to him, the government strongly argued the matter in the Supreme Court and protected the land.
He stated that:
- 100 acres have been allocated for a National Park
- Officials have been directed to sanction funds for an international-standard park over 424 acres in the LB Nagar area
HYDRAA Brought in to Tackle Encroachments and Flooding
The Chief Minister recalled that encroachments on water bodies and drainage channels had prevented rainwater from flowing freely, causing entire colonies to be flooded during heavy rains.
He said this was the reason the government introduced HYDRAA to remove encroachments.
Revanth Reddy stated that:
- HYDRAA will act strictly against encroachments on lakes, parks and nalas
- The government will not tolerate situations where thousands of families suffer because of encroachments by a few individuals
He also recalled that residents of the area had faced severe difficulties in the past because of a series factory.
